Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-02
This Privacy Policy explains how gotranslate24 (GoTranslate24, S.L., registered address Carrer de Manlleu, 117, 08570 Torelló, Barcelona, Spain, tax ID B-12345678) — the “data controller” — collects, uses and protects your personal data when you use this website or place an order, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spain’s Ley Orgánica 3/2018 de Protección de Datos Personales y garantía de los derechos digitales (LOPDGDD).
1. Who is responsible for your data
gotranslate24, Carrer de Manlleu, 117, 08570 Torelló, Barcelona, Spain. Contact for any privacy question or request: support@gotranslate24.com, +34 633 418 080.
2. What data we collect
- Identity and contact data: name, email address, phone number, postal address — collected when you place an order, request an estimate, or contact us.
- Billing data: billing address and, if you provide it, your NIF/CIF, for invoicing.
- Order data: the service ordered, quantity, turnaround, add-ons, and price.
- Document content: the text, audio or video files you submit for translation, interpreting, transcription or subtitling. Some documents may contain special categories of data under GDPR Article 9 — for example health information in a medical record, or criminal record data in a background check. We process this data only because you have actively submitted it to us for the specific purpose of translation, and only for as long as completing and invoicing that order requires.
- Technical data: standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) and, only if you consent, Google Analytics 4 cookies (see our Cookie Policy).
3. Why we process your data, and on what legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Preparing an estimate and processing your order | Performance of a contract (Art. 6.1.b GDPR) |
| Invoicing and meeting tax obligations | Legal obligation (Art. 6.1.c GDPR) |
| Responding to an enquiry sent through the contact form | Performance of pre-contractual steps at your request (Art. 6.1.b) |
| Processing document content, including any special-category data it contains | Explicit consent, given by submitting the document for translation (Art. 9.2.a GDPR) |
| Website analytics (Google Analytics 4) | Consent, given through the cookie banner (Art. 6.1.a GDPR) — never active before you opt in |
4. Who your data is shared with
Your document and order data are shared only with the translator(s) and reviewer(s) assigned to your job, and with the third-party services strictly needed to run the site: the form-submission provider used to deliver enquiries and orders, and — only after you consent — Google Analytics 4. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with any other third party for their own marketing purposes.
5. International transfers
Where a service provider we use (such as our analytics or form provider) processes data outside the European Economic Area, that transfer is covered by that provider’s own GDPR-compliant safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses). We do not otherwise transfer your data outside the EEA.
6. How long we keep your data
- Order and invoicing data: for as long as Spanish tax law requires records to be kept (currently up to 4–6 years, depending on the obligation).
- Submitted documents: only for as long as needed to complete, correct and invoice your order, after which they are deleted.
- Enquiry-form data with no resulting order: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Analytics data: per Google Analytics 4’s standard retention settings, only while your consent is active.
7. Your rights
Under GDPR and the LOPDGDD you can, at any time, ask us to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- rectify inaccurate data;
- erase your data (“right to be forgotten”), subject to our legal obligation to retain invoicing records;
- restrict or object to processing;
- receive your data in a portable format (“data portability”);
- withdraw consent (for analytics or for document processing not yet started) at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@gotranslate24.com. If you believe your data has been mishandled, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, www.aepd.es).
8. Security
We limit access to your documents and personal data to the people who need it to complete your order, and we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it against unauthorised access, loss or alteration.
9. Cookies
This site uses cookies as described in our Cookie Policy, which explains what each cookie does and how to change your choice at any time.
10. Children
This site is intended for adults placing business or personal document-translation orders. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practice or the law. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
